Assistant Professor of Biology
The Biology Department of Thiel College invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professor to teach Foundations of Biology, Microbiology, Microbiology for Nurses, Genetics, and Molecular Biology at the undergraduate level beginning in the Fall of 2023. The ideal candidate will demonstrate evidence of teaching effectiveness and mentoring of undergraduate research projects. Preference will be given to candidates who can also teach human anatomy and physiology and/or medical terminology to undergraduate biology students. The successful candidate will teach 24 credit hours per academic year, will support the overall academic program of the Department of Biology including academic advising of students and mentorship of undergraduate research projects, and will be asked to contribute to the core curriculum of the College on a periodic basis. A Ph.D. is required; ABD candidates will be considered if the defense of the degree is imminent.
