This is an Academic Year (42 week) position running from mid-August through May.

Hiring Range: $29,480 to $36,830 (52 week Full-Time Equivalent Range: $36,500 to $45,600); salary commensurate with relevant experience.

This position is part of the administrative team of the Biology Department Office.
The department has 1,100 undergraduate biology and biochemistry majors,
30 full time and part time faculty, 12 Post Doctoral Fellows, 45 Graduate
Students and 12 Research Scientists.

The Faculty Support Assistant is responsible for providing front desk
reception duties for the Biology Department. Receptionist duties include both
telephone and in person inquiries, answering questions from visitors, and directing
and assisting undergraduate and graduate students. Other responsibilities
include: managing and tracking office equipment and supplies; maintaining conference
room schedules for meetings and events; updating Biology website pages; coordinating
the Exam Proctoring schedule for faculty; serving as the primary contact for
Event Management, Facilities Management and other external campus departments;
assisting faculty with mailings and photocopying; and, supporting the
coordination of department events.

When needed, support the Assistant Director, Undergraduate Programs, the
Director of Undergraduate Administrator and the Associate Chair as directed.

Requirements

High School Diploma

Experience in an office setting. Comfortable in a busy fast paced environment.
Strong customer service orientation is a necessity. Ability to prioritize and
manage multiple tasks.

Working knowledge of Google and Microsoft Suite
required. Familiarity with Email Platforms and Adobe InDesign Application
