Job Description:
Baker College is looking to hire Regional Admissions Recruiters who will be responsible for local outreach in their assigned region of Michigan. This person will need to be dependable and organized as well as a team player. As a member of the Admissions team, the Regional Admissions Recruiter will need to have the ability to communicate effectively while creating the desire for potential students to attend Baker College. This position will require extensive travel within the state of Michigan, and/or the immediate surrounding states.

The primary role of the Regional Admissions Recruiter is to serve as the primary field representative at college events such as speaking engagements, college fairs and admissions events to promote the growth of Baker College. The Regional Admissions Recruiter is responsible for recruiting new prospective students, locating new student markets, and assisting in implementing student recruiting strategies while fostering awareness, promotion, and support of Baker College.The Regional Admissions Recruiter will conduct career presentations to high school students and advise high school teachers and counselors on Baker College programs. The Regional Admissions Recruiter will need to be a team player that is dependable and organized with the ability to communicate effectively and efficiently while creating the desire for potential students to attend Baker College.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Schedule/coordinate/provide high school classroom presentations, high school college visits, college fairs, and/or any potential opportunity to prospective students, applicants, parents/guardians, school counselors, community partners, college fairs, college receptions, and other events.
  • Establish and cultivate relationships with high school guidance counselors, community college transfer coordinators, educators, and community outreach programs.
  • Support high school events (i.e. scholarship and financial aid nights, career exploration presentations, etc.)
  • Represent Baker College at college fairs and assist potential students with inquiries.
  • Establish and continue relationships with community college partners, and discuss any transfer credits, if applicable, and how they may apply.
  • Provide informational sessions explaining Baker College opportunities to community college advisors, transfer coordinators, faculty, etc.
  • Visit secondary schools, community colleges and other educational institutions and represent Baker College at on- and off-campus admission-related programs and events.
  • Counsel prospective students and parents, providing accurate information regarding admission standards, academic and related programs, student life, cost and financial aid.
  • Participate on program advisory boards, school boards, committees, etc., both internally and externally.
  • Assists in the evaluation of program effectiveness, assess outcomes, complete cost analyses and develop improved programming to achieve goals.
  • Work to improve the Baker College brand through community service, tour groups, college sponsored activities, orientations, service clubs, and organizational appearances.
  • Maintain proficiency in presentational skills, scheduling, organization, time management, stress management, relationship building with high school staff, and the ability to speak effectively one-on-one, and to small and large groups.
  • Other duties as assigned.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
  • Extensive travel required within the state of Michigan, and/or to surrounding states.
  • General office environment. Moderate noise environment.
WORK SCHEDULE: 40 hours per week, 52 weeks per year

Requirements:
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Communications, Education, Counseling or a related discipline required
  • Bi-lingual (English/Spanish) speaking preferred
LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS:
  • Valid Driver's License
