Position Highlights
The Department of Emergency Medicine is recruiting a Clinical Research Assistant to coordinate various clinical trials. In addition to recruiting patients, collecting/reporting data and maintaining study compliance, this position will also coordinate the Research Associate Program (RAP). Duties & Responsibilities
- Maintain awareness of status of all active studies.
- Implement new studies and collaborate with Clinical Research Coordinators.
- Identify potentially eligible participants.
- Consent and enroll patients.
- Recruit RAP student volunteers.
- Train RAP student volunteers.
- Schedule RAP student shifts for rotation in the Emergency Department.
- Coordinate undergraduate course teaching students about clinical research in the Emergency Department (BME 493B).
- Document in applicable systems (tracking, electronic health, etc.) participants approached, screened, and enrolled in the study.
- Conduct data entry and validation to ensure accuracy, quality and compliance of the data collection process.
- Maintain study compliance with procedures and documentation.
- Prepare for and participate in monitor visits, audits, and quality reviews (internal and external) in a professional manner.
- Coordinate, schedule, and attend meetings with study sponsors.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Knowledge of the principles, practices, and techniques of research clinical skills.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent, or equivalent learning attained through experience required.
- Five (5) years of relevant experience required.
Preferred Qualifications
* Prior experience with the Research Associate Program as a student or volunteer.
* Experience with study initiation and regulatory document maintenance.
* Experience with research protocols, development, and regulations.
* Experience with Cerner.
