Position Highlights

Support the LTRR (Laboratory of Tree-Ring Research) curator II in successfully managing and growing the curation program at LTRR. Supervise staff, students and volunteers in the correct procedures for research, cataloging and management of collections, and ensures all protocols are adhered to. Work with the curator II in obtaining grant funding to support the program and liaise with community and federal partners.

Duties & Responsibilities

*Conduct and oversee research and cataloging of both legacy collections and new accessions

*Conduct and oversee the rehousing of specimens to protect the integrity of the collection.

*Supervision of staff, students and volunteers, including the management of schedules, space, and equipment. This includes overseeing that routine procedures such as pest management protocols are completed successfully.

*Liaise with users and contributors of the collection, handle inquiries, loan requests, and questions regarding proper protocols.Support outreach activities associated with the collection.

*Research grant opportunities and assist thecuratorwith the writing of grant proposals. Assist thecuratorwith the development of long-term strategies and management plans.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelors in relevant field e.g.Anthropology, Geoscience, Life Science, Museum Studies.
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience is required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Masters in relevant field e.g. Anthropology, Geoscience, Life Science, Museum Studies
