Job Description

The purpose of this position is to assist in the overall coordination of student conduct and intervention services. This position is responsible for ensuring that student's institutional rights are protected as well as protecting the integrity of the academic mission of the College, ensuring policies and procedures are followed, addressing issues, and working toward developing safe and healthy learning environments.
This is accomplished by:
  • Administering the student code of conduct.
  • Serving as an administrative hearing officer in formal conduct hearings and as a decision-maker in Title IX hearings.
  • Coordinating overall operations of student conduct and intervention processes, including investigating behavioral concerns, tracking student conduct/intervention referrals and coordinating the student conduct appeal process.
  • Serving as system administrator for behavior/case management software.
  • Training and workshop facilitation with students and employees regarding Code of Conduct and Student Intervention.
  • Implementing comprehensive assessment plan for student learning and program outcomes.
  • Designing workflows and procedures.
This is an exempt staff position.

Employees of Harford Community College, including instructors for online and virtual courses, must be residents of Maryland or the contiguous states of Delaware, Pennsylvania, Virginia, West Virginia or the District of Columbia; non-residents are expected to relocate to meet this requirement.


Required Education

Masters degree level of study or appropriate certification such as a Professional Engineer, Law Degree, or Certified Public Accountant.

Required Experience

Over three years and up to and including five years relevant work experience.

Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

Knowledge of due process rights of students.
Knowledge of FERPA regulations.
Knowledge of behavior, conduct, and case management software.
Effective communication skills.


Preferred Qualifications

Experience in student code of conduct and behavior intervention at the college/university level
1 year working experience with Maxient Conduct Software
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PPT)
Conflict resolution and problem-solving skills, including active listening


General Weekly Work Schedule

Monday - Friday, 8:30-4:30 with occasional evenings and weekends.
