Job Description or Duties

The assistant director for enrollment experiences and outreach oversees campus experiences and outreach events as part of a comprehensive and strategic recruitment plan for undergraduate admissions. The campus experience for prospective students and their families is at the center of recruitment. The assistant director plans, organizes and manages systems and staff for individual and group tours, events and experiences. The assistant director also supports engagement in off-campus activities to generate enrollment, and helps connect Admissions Counselors with prospective students and influencers to increase applications through strategic outreach. This position will provide support for campus enrollment/yield events including Admitted Student and New Student Enrollment days; and college- and department-developed events that engage prospective students and families (e.g. Health Science fair, diversity conferences and tours, career exploration days, on-campus school tours and open houses). Advances the goals of the Strategic Enrollment Plan in diversity, first-generation, New Nebraskan, Transfer and non-traditional. This position requires the ability to maintain flexibility working in a dynamic and fast-paced complex scheduling environment.

Directs all on-campus experiences including individual student/family campus visits, and large-scale campus-based Admissions and yield events for general or targeted special populations (FAFSA Friday, Conozco/Visita UNK, Admitted Student Days, Loper Preview Days, Honors Visit Day, etc.)Manages the onboarding and training of all students assisting in admissions events (tour guides, panelists, etc.) on or off-campus in collaboration with other Admissions staff and campus partners. Assigns duties, arranges for professional development opportunities throughout the recruitment cycle, and provide ongoing points for evaluation and assessment. Creates camaraderie within the student team that fosters reliability and engagement with prospective students on their journey.Identifies opportunities for hosted engagement activities or presence at functions with prospective students/families and influencers through targeted events at locations including high schools or communities. Plans programming and invitations to generate attendance. Follows up and converts attendees to complete an action (visit website, take campus visit, apply, volunteer, etc.)Takes lead role in New Student Enrollment planning, content preparation, and student/staff training for in-person and remote sessions for advising and enrollment.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree. Two years experience in event planning, customer service, sales, marketing or related areas. Ability to independently manage multiple projects and creatively problem-solve. Experience with data management including entering, reporting and tracking data. Excellent professional written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

 Prefer supervisory experience. Prefer experience in higher education, admissions or recruitment. Prefer experience working within a CRM or similar customer communication data system.
