Brief Statement of Duties
This position will involve teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in one or more exercise science areas and maintenance and research associated with the Exercise Science Laboratory. Advising, service to the department and university, and a program of scholarship will also be required. This is a campus based position.
Minimum Qualifications
Required Education: Doctorate or equivalent terminal degree
Discipline / Degree Area: Biomechanics, Exercise Physiology, Motor Control or combination
Required Specialized Training/Certifications: Two positions, both of which require an earned doctorate in exercise science-related areas. One position is specific to biomechanics, motor control and/or related field and one position is specific to strength and conditioning, sports performance and/or related field. Degree must be from an accredited institution by August, 2023.

- Earned doctorate in biomechanics, strength and conditioning/sport performance, exercise physiology, motor control, or combination area in the exercise sciences from an accredited institution.
- Evidence of teaching biomechanics and/or strength and conditioning and sport performance-related courses.
- Evidence of research and scholarship.
- Conveying oral and written information in understandable ways and communicating effectively verbally and in writing.
- Working effectively with others in productive ways.
- Expertise in sport performance, strength and conditioning, and biomechanics.
- Ability to supervise and mentor students through the research process.
- Ability to develop and maintain a personal program of research and scholarship.
- Ability to serve on departmental and university committees.
- Experience in the application of equipment in biomechanics, strength and conditioning, and sport performance.
- Evidence of excellence in teaching at the undergraduate and graduate level.
- Flexibility with teaching methodology (e.g., face-to-face, hybrid, distance education).
- Potential for securing external funding for research and evidence of successful grant funding.
- Certifications related to strength and conditioning and or coaching (e.g., National Strength and Conditioning Association CSCS).
- Experience in statistical analysis using various software programs (e.g., SPSS, R).
