Position Description:
The University of Northern Iowa's Department of Theatre seeks applicants for a tenure-track position as an Assistant Professor in Acting, starting in January 2023. Duties include directing one mainstage production (or performing or coaching) annually and meeting the service obligations required of all faculty. This position will teach nine credit hours per semester. The Department of Theatre mounts two main stage productions per semester, and is an accredited member of the National Association of Schools of Theatre.

Education Requirements:
MFA in Theatre required.
Required Qualifications:
Required qualifications include professional performance, directing or coaching experience; and ability to offer introductory and advanced coursework in Acting involving multiple methodologies.
Desirable Qualifications:
Preference will be given to candidates with at least three years of teaching experience beyond graduate teaching assignments; teaching experience that draws from methodologies other than the traditional Western approaches; experience in Acting for the Camera or Devised Theatre work; experience providing dialect coaching for productions; experience in offering performance-based workshops to high school populations as part of departmental recruitment efforts; experience teaching coursework focusing on playscript analysis; and experience in foundational coursework for Theatre majors.
