Required Qualifications:
- Earned doctorate;
- Record of excellence in scholarship/creative activity and teaching, and eligibility for a tenured appointment at the rank of Professor in a department or unit in the College;
- Administrative experience at the level of dean, associate dean, department chair, or comparable position in a large and/or complex department or college;
- Evidence of fostering a diverse and inclusive environment for students, faculty, and staff;
- Evidence of success in strategic planning, position management, fiscal planning, and resource management;
- Demonstrated capacity for fundraising;
- Excellent communication skills;
- Strong interpersonal, team-building, and leadership skills;
- Experience with and support for shared governance and/or participatory decision-making;
- Demonstrated experience with recruiting, retaining, and supporting talented faculty and staff.

- Provides outstanding leadership to realize the vision and achieve the academic goals of the College;
- Supports integrated strategic planning and institutional effectiveness initiatives;
- Oversees strategic directions, personnel, curricula, and budgets for the college;
- Advances and supports diversity, equity, and inclusion across the college;
- Facilitates the professional growth and development of faculty and staff;
- Promotes a climate of student success for a diverse community of learners;
- Procures and equitably distributes resources to foster excellence in teaching, research, and scholarship;
- Presides at meetings involving the faculty of the college and appoints ad hoc committees, as needed;
- Chairs the College of Arts and Sciences Council;
- Prepares periodic reports and keeps the Provost and Executive Vice Chancellor fully informed of the state of affairs and needs within the college;
- Oversee assessment and periodic comprehensive reviews of the College and its departments, programs, and centers;
- Collaborates with faculty in a climate of shared governance;
- Coordinates space and advocates for capital improvements;
- Collaborates with other members of the Academic Affairs team to achieve university objectives;
- Serves on the Deans Council and the Provost Council.
