Assistant, Associate or Full Professor of Finance

The Department of Finance in the John Chambers College of Business & Economics, West Virginia University, located in Morgantown, WV, is seeking qualified applicants for two tenure-track positions at the Assistant, Associate or Full Professor level within any area of specialization in Finance, beginning in Fall 2023. The positions will be tenure-track 9-month appointments.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Successful candidates will be capable of teaching at the undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral level, be able to serve on doctoral dissertation committees, and publish their research in high-quality outlets. Other responsibilities include service-related functions to the department, college, and university.

Founded in 1867, West Virginia University is the state's primary land-grant comprehensive institution. WVU is classified as a Research University (Very High Research Activity) by the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching. The John Chambers College of Business and Economics is AACSB accredited and offers undergraduate majors in: Accounting, Entrepreneurship and Innovation, Finance, General Business, Global Supply Chain Management, Hospitality and Tourism, Management, Management Info Systems and Marketing. Master's degrees in: Business Administration, Business Cybersecurity Management, Economics, Business Data Analytics, Finance, Economics, Human Resource Management, Forensic and Fraud Examination, Forensic Accounting and Fraud Examination Graduate Certificate, and Professional Accountancy. The College also has Ph.D. programs in Economics and in Business Administration, with concentrations in Accounting, Finance, Management and Marketing and Doctor of Business Administration. The College is located in Morgantown, a college town with high quality of life, within driving distance of Pittsburgh and Washington, DC. Qualifications

Qualifications:

Candidates must have successfully completed their PhD by August 2023, in Finance or a closely related field, such as, but not limited to Economics. Candidates at the Assistant Professor level must have a strong research pipeline and exhibit potential to publish their research in high-quality academic journals. Candidates at the Associate Professor level must have a track-record of high-level research published in well-regarded journals. Candidates at the Full Professor level must have a sustained record of excellent publications that have enabled the candidate to be successfully promoted to Full Professor at a research-oriented university. All candidates must have a teaching record demonstrating excellence in the classroom. All qualifications must be met by the time of appointment. Rank and salary will be commensurate with experience.
