Ripon College is seeking applications for an Engagement and Communications Specialist. The Specialist will join a high-performing Advancement team in the midst of the silent phase of the College’s next comprehensive campaign. Reporting to the Director of Constituent Engagement, the Specialist is responsible for the coordination and execution of communications, programs, and events between Ripon College and its constituents, including, but not limited to: alumni, students, parents, donors, and friends. This position will collaborate with all areas of the Advancement Office, campus colleagues and other key volunteers. 

In an effort to leverage the College’s most selfless and passionate constituent base to assist the Office of Advancement in achieving annual goals, the Specialist, through collaboration with the VP for Advancement and the Director will manage the execution of Ripon College’s volunteer program including but not limited to, the Alumni Board, Ripon Parents Network, Class Agents, reunion committees, social media advocates, and event hosts.

The Specialist will serve as a liaison between the Office of Advancement and Marketing and Communications and will manage a variety of tasks as it relates to digital communications, outreach, and engagement. This position helps identify and achieve communication objectives, creating high-impact messages that serve target audiences for email, web, and print channels to support alumni events, engagement opportunities, and fundraising efforts.

A bachelor's degree is required with 3-5 years of experience in institutional advancement, volunteer management, communications management or relatable experience. Candidates should exhibit an appreciation for the liberal arts and possess solid oral, written and interpersonal communication skills; demonstrate the ability to work independently and as a self-starter in a team-oriented environment as well as working collaboratively with staff, administration, faculty, volunteers and others. This position also required the organization of complex materials, ability to manage more than one project at a time, maintain sensitive and confidential information, and communicate comfortably in an academic setting and be able to adapt to changing priorities. Furthermore, a successful candidate will have comprehensive knowledge of volunteer based programming and communications management associated with fundraising for a non-profit institution. Strong technology skills and computer literacy is essential, including database knowledge. Candidates should model and embody a personal value system that promotes and celebrates a collaborative workplace climate that recognizes and rewards diversity, equity, and inclusion.

At Ripon College, the health and safety of our employees, students and contractors is our number one priority.
