Job Description

The Pine Manor Institute for Student Success at Boston College was created out of the integration between Boston College and Pine Manor College in May of 2020.

The Pine Manor Institute for Student Success at Boston College is a year-round, free post-secondary readiness program designed to serve underrepresented and underserved first-generation students through a rich and diverse pre-college and college curriculum with the vision of fostering and inspiring academic growth, social development and personal enrichment. The Pine Manor Institute (PMI) has four pillars: 

The Academy - Designed for students in grades 8-12.

Mentoring and Tutoring/Academic Support - A resource designed for Boston College and Messina College students.

Messina College - A two-year college division of Boston College offering an associate's degree program.

Alumni Outreach - Designed for PMI graduates who have graduated from their chosen post-secondary institution.


As a new Institute of the University, this position requires a self-starter with highly developed communications skills (diplomatic and interpersonal). The incumbent must have the ability to work and interact with a diverse community and demonstrate a high degree of cooperation and willingness to assist with all projects, programs, events and matters related to the Pine Manor Institute for Student Success at Boston College.

The Associate Director, Admissions oversees all aspects of admissions, recruitment and marketing and will direct the admissions process from inquiry through enrollment. The Associate Director will lead a collaborative effort to develop and implement both short-term and long-term recruitment strategies to ensure The Pine Manor Institute for Student Success (PMI) meets enrollment objectives. The incumbent may assist with recruitment efforts for Messina College.

The ideal candidate will be a data driven decision maker, an experienced admission professional, and a creative leader in admission, recruitment, marketing and retention. The Associate Director will develop and lead inclusive outreach efforts to draw first-generation, underserved and underrepresented students to the program and ensure that PMI continues to enroll promising students who both thrive as part of the enrichment program and in turn contribute to the community as a whole.

The Associate Director should be a team player who has a warm collaborative nature, positive energy, sense of humor, possess superior organization and prioritization skills and is self-motivated in the completion of his/her work. She/he will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills including outstanding written and public speaking skills and the ability to interact comfortably with a diverse community.

The Associate Director will also serve as a Senior Success Coach by tutoring and mentoring a group of students throughout the academic year. The Associate Director will assist with the training of undergraduate Success Coaches.

Full-Time Equivalent Hiring Range: $59,550 to $74,450; salary commensurate with relevant experience.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree or equivalent required.

Experience
Indicate the minimum number of years of relevant experience required to perform the essential functions of the role. Indicate a preference for functional or industry-specific experience.

Five years in a higher education setting, preferably in an admissions function within an educational setting. This role will require experience in goal setting, planning, executing, and supporting change as required, research into falling behind, and defining new approaches where necessary.

Candidates should have experience managing enrollments, working with a CRM, and developing marketing strategies with internal BC resources.

Experienced in speaking publicly to individuals and groups on and off campus.

Experience with the development of admission policy and the admission process.

Demonstrated excellent organizational skills with the ability to multi-task and prioritize work

High level of initiative and motivation to achieve enrollment goals.

Previous supervisory experience managing support and student staff is preferred.
