Harcum College, in Bryn Mawr, PA, a leader among independent associate degree colleges, has an immediate opening for a Director of Career & Transfer Services.

The Director  is responsible for providing career and transfer services and support to students through individual appointments, workshops, classroom presentations, career resources, and the use of technology and web-based tools. The Director will collaborate with faculty and staff, and serve on-point to secure one-year, post-graduation transfer and job placement data. The Director supervises professional and student staff and reports directly to the Dean of Student Life. This is a full-time position that occasionally requires evening and weekend work as necessary/required.


  • Direct, participate in, and promote career and transfer advising for students on the Bryn Mawr campus and at Partnership Sites
  • Collaborate with academic Program Directors regarding events and presentations
  • Plan and conduct job search skills workshops, including cover letter and resume writing, interview skills, dressing for success, and mock interviews
  • Coordinate and promote Transfer and Job Fairs
  • Maintain part and full-time job listings through the College Central platform
  • Meet with potential employers to create job opportunities for students
  • Administer student, programmatic, and recent graduate surveys, analyze data and prepare reports for the College
  • Effectively supervise and evaluate professional and student staff
  • Review and sign new articulation agreements with four-year colleges and universities
  • Organize, promote, and solicit donations for the Career Closet
  • Research and evaluate current and emerging regional and national trends
  • Develop the department's annual Budget Assessment Tool and Annual Report
  • Manage the fiscal year budget for the department
  • Assist with the planning, implementation, and support of events and programs sponsored by the Division of Student Life
  • Support the Office of Advancement with career-related events for Harcum alumni
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Dean of Student Life


  • Bachelor's degree required, Master's degree preferred in College Student Personnel, Higher Education Administration, Counseling, or related field 
  • One to three years of professional experience gained in higher education
  • Understanding of career development and college student development trends, knowledge of and experience with career and transfer advising and workshop design
  • Effective administrative, organizational, presentation, facilitation, written, interpersonal, teamwork, customer service, and computer skills
