Job Description

The Technical Advisor provides technical support as needed for Owl Magazine. Duties include:
  • Providing technical support with Owl Magazine's web site and social media platforms
  • Providing technical training on shoots, during pre-production, and during post-production
  • Providing insight on equipment orders, story selection, and other aspects of media production
  • Additional duties unique to the position as assigned by the supervisor.
Employees of Harford Community College, including instructors for online and virtual courses, must be residents of Maryland or the contiguous states of Delaware, Pennsylvania, Virginia, West Virginia or the District of Columbia; non-residents are expected to relocate to meet this requirement.

Required Education

High school diploma or GED equivalent and at least six college credits.

Required Experience

Excellent communication skills and working knowledge of DSLR camera features, Photoshop, and other relevant computer software applications. Previous experience as Owl Magazine staff member for at least one semester preferred. Equivalent technical training, education, and/or experience may be considered.

Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

Working knowledge of MAC computers, web site publishing and social media creation.

General Weekly Work Schedule

Work schedule varies; final schedule to be determined by the supervisor.
