Directly supports the University Registrar’s office and Academic Resources and Institutional Research office in leading reporting initiatives. Collaborate with both offices for the completion of campus data requests for information, while evaluating internal reporting processes, and developing and implementing operative solutions to enhance UNK reporting. 

Design and implement reports and analytics for university constituent groups of all sizes within the registrar’s office and the academic resources and institutional research office, providing for outcomes assessment of student success programs which inform the direction of the university’s Strategic Enrollment Plan. Coordinate and facilitate requirements gathering and analysis. Utilize reporting tools to extract data from operational data systems to help with analysis. Work to develop descriptive, diagnostic, predictive and prescriptive analytics with a focus on student success, insight to student success barriers, and curricular analytics reporting. Keep abreast of technology changes that may enhance services. Understanding detailed processes in the following broad areas: academic records; registration, tuition, and course fees; curriculum management and scheduling; curriculum analysis and degree planning.

Required Knowledge and Skills:

  • Possess a strong customer service attitude and demonstrate flexibility, tact, patience, and respect in working with faculty, staff, administration, and students.
  • Have working understanding of quantitative and qualitative research methods
  • Possess an attention to detail, and be able to provide accurate and reliable work
  • Be willing to learn the College’s student information system and how to use tools for generating reports from the system.
  • Knowledge of FERPA and record of maintaining confidentiality of student records
  • Be able to work independently with minimum supervision and possess excellent project management skills with the ability to coordinate with individuals from other areas to accomplish required tasks and objectives.
  • Have strong project leadership, organizational, and communication skills as part of a collaborative educational environment.
  • Ability to communicate across faculty, staff, and student populations.
  • Analyze data, answer questions, and provide metrics to support student success

Specialized Skills

  • Knowledge of PeopleSoft student information system including PS Query.
  • Knowledge of Tableau, Web Focus

    Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in related field such as Business, Computer Science, Mathematics, or Public Relations. Working knowledge of Excel, Access, and Word.

    Preferred Qualifications: Master’s Degree; some work experience in related field, preferably in higher education; working knowledge of offices within the Division of Academic Affairs. Possess critical thinking skills; be ethical, accurate, flexible, self-motivated. Knowledge of Tableau, PeopleSoft Campus Solutions, SAP and Web Focus.
