Working under the Director’s leadership, the Assistant Director is responsible for serving as the front-line recruiter for transfer students to the college and assists with the recruitment of graduate and adult professional program students. The Assistant Director works in close alliance with partner schools to attend recruitment events, organize meetings, and special events designed to promote Olivet College and its academic programs. Additionally, this position maintains the graduate, transfer, and adult professional student inquiries and makes admissions decisions on transfer and adult professional program student applications to the college, while assisting program directors on the acceptance of graduate students.

The Assistant Director is also responsible for working with students and appropriate campus offices on ensuring efficient transfer evaluations in the admittance of students. The Assistant Director will also help identify and implement initiatives at regional community colleges and travel as appropriate to represent Olivet College to prospective students. The Assistant Director will collaborate and partner with the program coordinators of the appropriate academic areas, as well as other areas, in implementing strategic enrollment and recruitment goals.

Responsibilities:

1. Assist the Director in the development of the strategic recruitment plans for a strong enrollment of graduate, transfer, and adult professional students;

2. Maintain an inquiry database for prospective transfer students and file review/decisions for graduate, transfer, and adult population student applicants;

3. Work with the director in developing articulation and partnership agreements between the college and other partners (e.g., regional community colleges, health agencies, governmental offices, etc.);

4. Coordinate engaging transfer student events on campus and at partner schools, including the Kellogg Community College recruitment office;

5. Assist in the implementation of graduate and adult professional recruitment activities including virtual events;

6. Communicate regularly through communication plans for prospective graduate, transfer, and adult professional students;

7. Implement recruitment and marketing strategies utilizing social networking, multimedia, and other technologies related to graduate, transfer, and adult professional student recruitment and retention;

8. With the director, develop target market profiles for each program to drive recruiting activities;

9. Assist in the coordination of on-campus/off-campus recruiting activities for adult professional and graduate programs;

10. Travel to various recruiting, admissions and community-based events to market graduate, transfer, and adult professional programs;

11. Meet with and counsel prospective students on- and off-campus as needed and in collaboration with faculty from each area; and,

12. Collaborate with the director of financial aid to communicate cost and financial aid processes to prospective graduate, transfer, and adult professional students; and,

13. Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

1. A bachelor’s degree is required with at least 3 years of direct admissions experience in transfer and/or graduate program areas;

2. Experience with recruitment and engagement with non-traditional students and/or the graduate, adult, professional and online cohort;

3. Demonstrated success in sales and network building;

4. Strong presentation skills and superior verbal and written communications skills;

5. Strong interpersonal and customer service skills;

6. Demonstrated success in achieving goals through direct phone calls and emails;

7. Self-directed and highly organized;

8. Ability to travel, work flexible hours, weekend and evening hours as needed;

9. Demonstrated proficiency in working with enrollment technologies, CRMs, and the analysis of data; and,

10. Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and database management with the ability to learn additional programs;

Desired Qualifications:

1. Experience in Slate, social media and email communication;

2. Experience in higher education administration and leadership roles; and,

3. Proven record of success in recruitment, specifically for graduate, transfer, and adult professional cohorts.
