The School of Education at Augustana University in Sioux Falls, SD, invites applicants for a full-time faculty position in Audiology beginning in August 2023. This faculty member will become a member of the faculty within the Communication Disorders program within the Sharon Lust School of Education. Salary and rank commensurate with qualifications and experience. 

Responsibilities: This faculty member will be responsible to teach courses in our undergraduate Communication Disorders program, and will also teach undergraduate and/or online graduate courses (e.g. research-oriented courses, neuroscience, etc.). Successful applicants will demonstrate strong commitment to student-centered teaching excellence within the context of the liberal arts. In addition to teaching courses, this faculty member would have responsibilities in advising, supervising students in the audiology clinic/clinicals, as well as service and professional development expectations.

Qualifications: An earned Aud.D degree from an ASHA accredited program and a minimum of 3-5 years of experience in the field of audiology are required. It will also be important for this faculty to hold a current Certificate of Clinical Competence from ASHA, and either hold a current license in South Dakota, or express willingness to seek that prior to the start date. Other important qualifications include: experience, commitment, and excellence in teaching and mentorship; evidence of research in the field; vision, energy, and creativity for revitalizing the audiology component of the Communication Disorders program. Candidates with prior experience in leadership and/or higher education are preferred.
