Job Description
The Admissions Associate provides enrollment, marketing, outreach and administrative support for the Admissions Department. Duties include explaining the enrollment process and providing general College information to prospective students and their parents; generating labels, entering data and monitoring the mailing of College view books and invitations to Open Houses; coordinating, scheduling and staffing on- and off-campus outreach events; maintaining databases for reporting and mailing lists for admissions materials; requesting documentation, maintaining files, and entering information into the student information system for international students; stocking and maintaining materials for the Welcome Center; typing, printing and distributing departmental correspondence; routinely monitoring and managing the Admissions email inbox; copying and faxing materials; handling purchase orders and direct pays; and maintaining department files.
Other duties include assisting Registration and Records during busy times and assisting the Welcome Center by providing coverage, answering the switchboard, ordering supplies and responding to walk-in requests as needed.
This is a non-exempt staff position.
Employees of Harford Community College, including instructors for online and virtual courses, must be residents of Maryland or the contiguous states of Delaware, Pennsylvania, Virginia, West Virginia or the District of Columbia; non-residents are expected to relocate to meet this requirement.
Required Education
An associate's degree is required.
Required Experience
Three years of customer service experience is required.
Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Applicants will be evaluated on criteria including proficiency in a Windows-based computer environment, including intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office skills; demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills; excellent communication skills; and experience using a large database and/or student information database, Banner preferred.
Applicants must be able to work in a busy and noisy environment with frequent interruptions, and maintain attention to detail and accuracy.
General Weekly Work Schedule
Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Thursday, 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Final work schedule to be determined by the supervisor.
