The Director of Student Veteran Support Services will be responsible for directing all program activities related to the success of military and veteran students including: recruitment, retention/graduation and career transition support. Working collaboratively with other departments, ensures highly effective, integrated support services supporting career and employment outcomes for military students in support of the mission and goals of the university.

Outcomes:

• Provides overall direction and leadership to the Student Veteran Center, overseeing daily operations that involve providing support for student veterans, developing engaging programming that builds strong support networks for student veterans and their families.
• Responsible for recruitment of student veterans and military connected students working with outreach to build partnerships and support for veteran prospects. Ensure seamless transition into the university for new students. Accompany outreach on visits to recruit and support potential veteran students.
• Oversees Student Veteran Association (SVA) motivating and inspiring students to participate.
• Works collaboratively across the institution and with affiliated support services to provide wraparound support for student veterans.
• Represents the University and actively participates in professional meetings and functions related to military matters advancing the institutions reputation as a military friendly institution. Seeks out and successfully encourages partnership opportunities.
• Functions as coach/mentor to student veterans connecting them with appropriate services to ensure academic, personal, and other forms of support.

Competencies:

• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
• Military experience required.
• 4+ years of related work experience required.
