Job Summary

Processes procurement and HR requests for externally funded grants and/or contracts following university policies and procedures. Provides administrative support to one or more grants managers. Processes hiring requests working with Human Resources and grants managers to ensure grant-funded positions are posted and filled.

Responsibilities

1. Assists faculty in all phases of the development of grant and contract proposals, including preparation of detailed budgets

2. Ensures compliance with all sponsor guidelines and deadlines and KSU policies

3. Obtains and/or provides institutional components of proposals and performs administrative validation on all proposal elements

4. Ensures adherence to quality standards and all policies and award regulations

5. Advises on allowable expenditures per award terms and conditions

6. Interacts regularly with and provides high quality customer service to faculty members conducting sponsored research

Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent

Required Experience
One (1) year related work experience

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred Experience
Experience with grant and contract policies of Federal, state, and private sponsors

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

ABILITIES
Able to handle multiple tasks or projects at one time meeting assigned deadlines

KNOWLEDGE
Familiarity with The University System of Georgia (USG) and KSU's grants/contract processes

SKILLS
Excellent interpersonal, initiative, teamwork, problem solving, independent judgment, organization, communication (verbal and written), time management, project management and presentation skills
Proficient with computer applications and programs associated with the position (i.e. Microsoft Office suite)
Strong attention to detail and follow up skills
Strong customer service skills and phone and e-mail etiquette
