Associate/Assistant Professor of Criminal Justice

The Department of Criminal Justice, Sociology, and Social Work in the College of Arts and Sciences seeks to hire a scholar at the Advanced Assistant or early Associate Professor position, with broad teaching and research interests in criminal justice.

The successful candidate will be expected to teach core courses within the Department’s criminal justice program which offers as a BS degree in Criminal Justice and concentrations in Criminal Investigation, Homeland Security and Terrorism, and Victim Studies. Candidates will typically teach 12 credit hours in criminal justice per semester. All faculty are also expected to maintain an active scholarly research agenda, as well as student advising and university-wide service responsibilities.

Salary is competitive and commensurate with credentials and experience.

A Ph.D. in Criminal Justice, Criminology, Justice Studies, or in a closely related field is required. Qualified ABD candidates will also be considered if their Ph.D. degree will be conferred by the effective date of appointment. A J.D. alone is not sufficient for application to this position. Candidates must have demonstrated ability or potential for excellence in teaching at the undergraduate level.
