Position Highlights
We are seeking an Academic Coordinator to join our PreClerkship and Curricular Management team. This position will oversee and administer an academic program consisting of multiple blocks in the first and second year of the medical school curriculum. As an Academic Coordinator, you will implement new curricular processes for students, staff, and faculty. This includes tracking of sensitive student information including retake and remediation eligibility, calculation of grades, increased communication with multiple departments across campus, room scheduling, and liaison between Director and students. You may also oversee core program components, curricula and/or instruction. Additional duties include, managing administrative functions, such as, budget and coordination with internal and external stakeholders.

Duties & Responsibilities
- Collaborate with faculty to form program strategies and goals and develop core program components:
- Support and administer the delivery of the Personalized Active Learning (PAL) Block to the medical students within the PhoenixMed and ArizonaMed curriculum.
- Implement new curricular processes for students, staff, and faculty. This includes tracking of sensitive student information including retake and remediation eligibility, calculation of grades, increased communication with multiple departments across campus, room scheduling, and liaison between Director and students.
- Participate in the implementation of alternative learning methods for first and second year medical students. This includes coordination of additional and multiple content experts for each active learning session to facilitate the anticipated increase in faculty to student ratio in active learning for student success.
Develop new or revised program goals and objectives. - Develop and schedule a program work plan in accordance with objectives; oversee daily operations and coordinate program activities through assigned staff; prioritize and delegate work activities.
- Coordinate, develop and maintain curriculum web-page for best practices information for faculty and block directors.
- Work with education development team to identify problems, new features, and areas of improvement in the current electronic systems. This includes an increase in various types of prep content and active learning due to class size increase which will require additional faculty for these types of sessions.
- Coordinate and plan the administration and operation of the academic program(s):
- Coordinates, oversees, and assists Directors in the recruitment of additional faculty needed for all Blocks in Preclerkship curriculum; includes maintaining CMS, electronic tracking methods, and liaising with directors to provide ongoing quality improvements.
- Provides advanced administrative support for additional/new faculty in the creation/modification/maintenance of COM-P course for first and second year medical students for active learning sessions.
- Provide advance support in case-based instruction including developing schedules, mid-block meetings, prep workshops, and room scheduling; includes CMS data entry.
- Advise staff, students and others to provide technical advice, problem solving assistance, answers to questions and program goals and policy interpretations; refer to appropriate department or person as necessary.
- Interact and maintain liaisons with students, faculty, staff, and outside/community agencies in facilitating program objectives. This includes effective communication with the increase of faculty needed as content experts to ensure materials from all experts are comprehensive without overlap and/or duplication.
- Collect and analyze data to assess and evaluate effectiveness of academic program:
- Assist with the creation of reports and/or preparation of data for Academic Affairs program/projects.
- Administer and coordinate student assessment procedures and develop data bases to address longitudinal outcomes. This includes attendance tracking for various academic purposes.
- Participate or teach seminars / workshops:
- Train faculty, staff and students to use and utilize new educational technology tools.
- Develop and facilitate workshops and meetings on curriculum topics; coordinate logistics, scheduling, and participant communications.
- Additional duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent advanced learning attained through professional level experience required.
- Minimum of three (3) years of relevant work experience is required.
Preferred Qualifications
* Master's degree in education or related field.
* Three (3) Years relevant experience.* Experience working in higher education.* Work experience with Google Drive and other cloud storage files sharing, collaborative editing programs, and/or educational technology software tools to meet educational program needs.FLSA: Exempt
