Position Highlights
Facilities Management is looking for a self directed, self motivated and hard working Trades Helper to be a part of our Life Safety Shop. In the trades helper role duties will include assisting Life Safety Systems workers with job set-up, job clean-up, and delivery of materials. This is a great opportunity for training in the Life Safety Systems trade. The successful candidate will have the ability to communicate effectively and provide good customer service while having good working knowledge of trades and maintenance. Working conditions may include restricted movement, dirty environment, extreme temperatures and intense noise. This also includes lifting and carrying heavy objects.

Duties & Responsibilities
- Assists skilled trades employees with daily activities on
assigned jobs. - Assists with collecting and delivering materials and/or
equipment needed on job sites. - Cleans and/or performs minor repairs on equipment under
supervision. - Performs clean-up activities as jobs are completed.
Physical/Environmental Requirements:
- Working conditions may include restricted movement, dirty environment, extreme temperatures and intense noise.
- Ability to lift/carry/move up to 50 lbs.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent, or equivalent learning attained through experience may be required.
- Prior work experience not required.
- Ability to drive according to the University Fleet Safety Policy.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with hand tools and safety practices.
- Experience communicating effectively.
