Executive Assistant & Administrative Lead
The Executive Assistant & Administrative Lead performs a wide variety of activities required to provide exceptional administrative assistance to the Vice President for Human Resources. Primary responsibilities include management of the Vice President's schedule and organization of meeting materials and presentations. This position also is expected to coordinate projects and provide strategic support to key initiatives. Lastly, the position coordinates efforts across the HR administrative portfolio to provide support of Human Resources' Senior Leadership Team including oversight of special administrative projects across the division. The role will serve as a lead for all project coordinators in the Division of Human Resources.
Significant experience providing executive level management administrative support in an academic or professional office environment. Proficient in general computer skills such as word processing, email and calendar management. Experience such as drafting and editing correspondence, reports, and other documents in a professional and efficient manner, using strong proofreading skills. Proficient with current office software such as MS Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Must be highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently in a fast paced environment. Ability to work collaboratively in a team atmosphere, demonstrate discretion in working with confidential information and use sound judgment in decision making. Professional communication skills and ability to interact effectively with all individuals in a diverse multicultural environment. Strong proof reading skills and ability to prepare error free documentation and correspondence in a professional and timely manner. Demonstrated commitment to the Virginia Tech Principles of Community.
Experience working in higher education providing administrative support for an executive or senior management level. Considerable knowledge of university organizational structure, policies and procedures. Experience with travel arrangement and reimbursement. Certified Administrative Professional or equivalent. Experience leading others as formal or informal supervisor.
Commensurate with experience with a salary range of $50,000-$75,000 per year
