Faculty Position-Assistant Professor for Occupational & Environmental Health Sciences

The West Virginia University (WVU) School of Public Health seeks a 9-month Assistant Professor (non-tenure track) to join the Department of Occupational and Environmental Health Sciences. This is a unique opportunity to mainly contribute to innovative teaching for a dynamic department in a diverse academic environment. The Department includes 10 full-time faculty members and offers an MS in Industrial Hygiene and a PhD in Public Health, as well as an Occupational Medicine Clinic and accredited residency programs in both Occupational Medicine and Public Health-General Preventive Medicine. The faculty actively partner with numerous groups, including the Mary Babb Randolph Cancer Center, the West Virginia (WV) Clinical and Translational Science Institute, the WV Prevention Research Center, the WVU School of Medicine, WVU Statler College of Engineering and Mineral Resources, NIOSH Morgantown located next door on campus, WVU Safety and Health Extension, and the WV Bureau for Public Health.

Position Description:

We welcome applicants with teaching experience in environmental and occupational health who can provide courses critical to the needs of the Department and the School of Public Health. Specifically, applicants are expected to contribute to the Department's undergraduate, masters, doctoral and residency teaching offerings in the areas of occupational and environmental hazard assessment, environmental health, environmental practice, occupational safety and health, occupational injury prevention, and/or industrial hygiene. Interested individuals are encouraged to identify new and existing courses that the candidate is capable of teaching.



Qualifications
  • Doctoral Degree (Ph.D. or equivalent) in Occupational and Environmental Health Sciences, or hold a terminal degree in a closely-related field prior to their appointment
