Bushnell University’s School of Nursing, located in Eugene, OR invites applications for the Dean of Nursing. This position has a negotiable start date. Job duties include, but are not limited to:
- Responsible for academic and administrative oversight of all nursing programs at Bushnell University.
- Provides leadership and vision for the School of Nursing.
- Actively participates in and supports the University’s Strategic Plan Initiatives.
- Oversees program assessment procedures, program and course review, national accreditation and other approval processes, and ensures compliance with institutional assessment standards.
- Maintains primary responsibly for delivery of all nursing programs.
- Develops, implements, and oversees a faculty, staff, and student recruitment and retention plan for the School of Nursing.
- Develops and administers the School of Nursing’s operating budget.
- Identifies and actively participates in opportunities for new program development within the School of Nursing.
- Possess knowledge and experience with grant writing/funding.
- Supports the missions of the University and School of Nursing.
- Collaborates with Program Directors and nursing faculty to ensure program quality and effectiveness and to promote student learning and satisfaction in all student populations.
- Collaborates with the University’s Admission, Marketing, and Advancement staff to promote and support activities that promote and enhance the School of Nursing.
- Works collaboratively with nursing’s Enrollment and Academic Advisors.
- Ensures all new nursing faculty are oriented to the University and School of Nursing.
- Assigns faculty workloads in collaboration with Program Directors.
- In collaboration with Program Directors, supervises nursing faculty and staff, monitors performance, and conducts annual performance reviews.
- Collaborates with Program Directors and nursing faculty on matters related to Taskstream.
- Disseminates program and other information, as appropriate, to nursing faculty, students, and community partners.
- Chairs nursing’s Community Advisory Committee, nurse faculty, and other meetings.
- Maintains current and cultivates new community partnerships.
- Serves as a member the Dean’s Cabinet.
- Keeps professionally current by participating in professional development and other activities.
- Maintains current credentials or licensures.
- Creates and maintains a positive, inclusive, collaborative work and learning environment that focuses on safety, respect of students and colleagues.
- Engages in effective communication, both verbally and in writing, utilizing tact, patience, and courtesy.
- Carries a regular teaching load of up to 15 credits within the calendar year.
- Works collaboratively with VPAA to schedule up to 16 hours/month of work release time to pursue advanced education and/or clinical practice opportunities that support current role and professional development.
- Possesses effective listening skills and the ability to speak and write clearly.
- Possesses exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
- Models professional nursing practices and behaviors for colleagues and students.
- Must successfully pass a criminal background check.
- Other duties as assigned.
