Seattle Central College is seeking full-time, tenure-track IT/BTM instructors to join the Year Up program in the STEM-Business division. The national Year Up model is committed to ensuring equitable access to economic opportunity, education, and justice for all young adults-no matter their background, income, or zip code. Year Up is a one-year, intensive training program that provides talented and motivated, yet underserved young adults, ages 18-24, with a combination of hands-on skills development, coursework eligible for college credit, corporate internships, and wraparound support. Year Up is committed to embracing diversity because the program firmly believes that diverse employee teams help to achieve its best organizational outcomes and provide the most effective support to the students as the program works to close the Opportunity Divide.

The IT/BTM programs offer a wide range of pathways. Currently, the Seattle Central Year Up program offers courses in the following pathways: Software Development and Testing, Application Development and Testing, and Computer Networking Support. Teaching responsibilities will primarily be with the Seattle Central Year Up program (see LINK), and additional assignments will depend on division needs. The IT/BTM department supports the use of a variety of instructional modalities, such as face to face, virtual hybrid, hybrid and online, and exposure to cutting edge technology. Class times and modalities vary and may include days, evenings, and weekends according to program needs.

We are currently hiring three full-time, tenure-track faculty in the STEM-Business division of Seattle Central College.

These opportunities are open until filled. First review of applications is scheduled for November 06, 2022. The goal is to have these positions filled by December 2022 for a winter quarter 2023 start, which begins January 3, 2023.
