Postdoctoral Associate
Job Description
A postdoctoral position is available in the lab of Dr. Bryan Hsu in the Department of Biological Sciences at Virginia Tech (Blacksburg, VA). Research will broadly cover the gut microbiome with focuses on host-microbe interactions, bacteriophages (phages), synthetic biology, and gut-specific biomaterials engineering. Candidates will have the opportunity to develop their own research projects and interests. The Hsu lab utilizes molecular, biomaterials, biological, sequencing, and omics towards the development of new diagnostic and therapeutic technologies. Required Qualifications
- Ph.D. with expertise in biology, biochemistry, biological engineering, chemical engineering, or a relevant field. PhD must be awarded no more than four years prior to the effective date of appointment with a minimum of one year eligibility remaining.
- A track record of success in scientific communication and project leadership is essential.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experimental experience, strong analytical skills, and a demonstrated ability to follow through with projects from beginning to completion.
