Position HighlightsTreasury is currently seeking a disciplined individual to work within the Treasury Accounting area of Financial Services. The successful candidate will be required to exhibit professional and competent knowledge of accounting principles and practices, spreadsheets, and databases. Duties & Responsibilities
- Prepare, interpret, review, and approve capital related transactions
within University enterprise systems.
- Apply University policies
pertaining to available funds, allowed expenses, and cost coding in capital
- Advise department
personnel on University financial policies and procedures relating to capital
- Assist in maintaining and
updating capital related accounts and systems.
- Participate in month-end closing of the financial statements
including journal entry creation and report creation.
- Participate in year-end
closing of the financial statements including data gathering, journal entry
creation, and report creation.
- Assist in preparation of
variance analysis for sections of the financial statements associated with Treasury
- Assist with preparation
of Treasury Accounting sections of surveys to external parties including
state agencies, federal agencies, and rating agencies.
- Monitors compliance and
generally accepted accounting principles, State regulations, and University
policies pertaining to Treasury Accounting.
- Assist with special
projects and requests from leadership.
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
- Perform other duties as
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a
related area with accounting course work AND one year of professional
accounting experience; OR,
- Five (5) years of progressively
responsible and diverse accounting experience and course work, which includes
at least one year of professional accounting, in which a broad exposure to all
areas of accounting and accounting principles, practices and procedures was
equivalent combination of experience, training, and/or education.
- Experience with UAccess Financials and UAccess Analytics.
- Experience with spreadsheet and database applications such as MS Excel and MS Access.
- Experience in fund accounting in higher education or other governmental organizations.
