Position Highlights

The Director will serve as adviser to the Associate VP for UAHS International Medical Degree Program (IMDP) and help build the Global MD Strategic Plan to ensure sustainability and expansion of the primary care workforce. They will lead efforts to develop a communication plan that brands Global MD UA/UWA as well as provide resources for recruitment, fund development and other program needs. This position will collaborate to develop research priorities around the differentials of this primary care global medical school in terms of student outcomes, longitudinal practice preferences and impact on primary care shortage.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Research, analyze and prepare any needed support documents and materials for successful accreditation.
  • Facilitate team discussions around aspects of the accreditation process as requested to assure timeline successfully met.
  • Document learning objectives, experiences/observations and competences for various clinical rotations and immersion experiences.
  • Develop needed Arizona clinical rotations, preceptors, mentors, etc both acute care and ambulatory/community settings in concert with the medical school curricular calendar and regard to resources, populations of interest, and geography.
  • Create structure, process/logistics, and evaluation for all clinical sites.
  • Collaborate around donor relationships, grant and funding opportunities and philanthropy in support of medical education that supports equitable primary care and global health.
  • Analyze needed resources to assure operational efficiency and effectiveness for the Global MD program.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent advanced learning attained through professional level experience required. Master's preferred.
  • Minimum of eleven (11) years of related work experience, including seven (7) years of managerial experience, preferably in large complex institutions or organizations, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Requires experience in leading multiple teams, projects, programs, and/or function

Preferred Qualifications

* Broad and substantive knowledge and expertise of principles, practices and theories of function and multiple related disciplines and advanced leadership.
