UW SYSTEM OFFICIAL TITLE: Software Engineer/Developer II

This position reports to Admissions Operations Assistant Directorandprovides functional support for the Office of Admissions customer relationship management system and the integrations from various systems that supply data for use recruitment, communication, and analysis. The position also maintains the CRM's day-to-day business processes and is responsible for data integrity and security including, but not limited to: record consolation, import of various datasets, mapping, email and text message deployment, development and maintenance of queries, reports, fields, prompts, forms, rules, etc.

The position also designs, develops, tests, debugs, and troubleshoots software and applications to support information technology business operations.

This position is also responsible for maximizing the available technology for the purpose of recruiting students to UW-Green Bay. A special emphasis is placed on developing and implementing robust applications for the Customer Relationship Manager (CRM) software, along with developing reports to support analysis of KPI and ROI.

This position includes the following responsibilities:

  • Reviews application design specifications, and makes enhancements to existing applications.
  • Tests and debugs programs, and prepares systems test data.
  • Prepares program documentation and training requirements.
  • Develops or modifies technical specifications for moderately-complex projects using disciplined software development practices.
  • Prepares detailed system design specifications for system integration and upgrades.
  • Maintains and troubleshoots applications, systems, or websites.
  • Report and query creation and maintenance.
  • Supports undergraduate admissions recruitment efforts by assisting with application review, high school visits, following up with students from targeted high schools, presentations to prospective students, phone calls, and other support of in-person recruitment activities.


  • Bachelor's degree at time of application
  • 1 year of related experience
  • Experience using and/or developing software applications such as CRM
  • Ability to write clear and easy to understand documentation for complex activities and/or processes
  • Ability to discern data needs and ask appropriate probing questions to ensure proper output
  • Understand end-user needs and activities in order to suggest best practices with available technology


  • Experience with Student Information System software (ex: PeopleSoft)
  • Experience with CRM software
  • Experience in a higher education environment (Admissions, Student Services etc.) or Marketing
  • Experience with Excel and/or other data reporting applications
  • Project management skills, including the ability to set timelines, identify and handle multiple priorities, organize tasks for information system upgrades, enhancement, and new implementations

Position is a full-time Academic Staff appointment. This position may have the option to work on-campusor a hybrid schedule subject to approved telecommuting request.Official transcripts of the highest degree achieved will be required of finalist(s). Salary range of $48,000 - $50,000.

This position is exempt from the overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).


UW Systemprovides an excellent benefits package to meet the diverse needs of its employees. We participate in the Wisconsin Retirement System (WRS), where employer contributions begin immediately and employees are fully vested after 5 years of service. The UW System also provides supplemental retirement savings programs including a 403(b) and Deferred Compensation.

In addition, employees receive several types of paid leave benefits, which are prorated for employees working less than 100%. This includes 9 legal holidays, 36 hours of personal holiday and between 96-130 hours of sick leave annually. Employees earn 13-27 days of vacation each year, depending on years of service and employment type.
