  • Meet or exceed a bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
  • Minimum 2 years of experience working in a service-oriented environment or instructional setting.
  • Valid Driver’s License.
  • Excellent computer skills.


  • Demonstrated experience in academic/career counseling; college admissions or recruiting; or teaching at the secondary or postsecondary level.
  • Fluent in Spanish.
  • Broad based experience in various areas of Student Services in the Community College environment.
  • Coordinating, planning, and organizational skills.

It is the intent of the basic job requirements, duties, and responsibilities that these minimum requirements should therefore, be referred to as a guide for, rather than a limitation to the services required.


The position will report to the Director of Academic Success for job responsibilities and other College related activities as outlined in the Policies and Procedures Manual. Essential duties include but are not limited to the following:

  • Provide academic advising across multiple disciplines.
  • Participate in College outreach events as requested.
  • Maintain positive relationships with students and advisees to promote and support student success.
  • Enroll students in appropriate courses using standardized exam scores, unofficial transcripts, and course prerequisites.
  • Perform and interpret degree audits, as needed.
  • Review degree requirements with students to promote completion.
  • Assist students with career planning.
  • Refer students to appropriate offices and/or agencies as needed.
  • Maintain accurate records of interactions with students.
  • Represent the College at transfer and career fairs, workshops, and online as needed.
  • Participate in planning and delivering orientation sessions.
  • Assist with Early Alert referrals and follow-up with students and faculty.
  • Actively engage with students and advisees throughout each term to support and promote student success.
  • Accurately communicate institutional information to students, including information about admissions requirements, new programs, course changes, deadlines, important dates, costs, transfer requirements, and state and federal mandates.
  • Engage in professional development activities, including conferences, workshops, webinars, and meetings with faculty and/or administrators.
  • Participate in the development, implementation, and evaluation of the academic advisement program’s goals and objectives.
  • Serve as a resource for faculty and staff.
  • Adhere to the institution’s policies, FERPA, and other applicable rules and regulations regarding the release of student information to faculty, parents, students, and other parties.
  • Serve on committees and attend meetings as requested.
  • Regularly interact with faculty and academic administrators to ensure continuity of advising.
  • Maintain professional competence; serve as an ambassador for the college, and is committed to the mission and vision of the college.


Annual salary of $40,000 to start, in addition to excellent employee benefits. Proof of identity and eligibility to work in the United States must be verified for successful candidate.
