The Department of Psychology & Neuroscience at Millsaps College is seeking an outstanding candidate for a tenure track position at the level of Assistant Professor to begin in August 2023. We welcome candidates who specialized in cognitive psychology, neuroscience, or a related field who will add to the department’s strengths.

Successful candidates will be able to teach a range of topics in psychology and neuroscience including Introduction to Neuroscience, Cognitive Psychology, Sensation & Perception, a senior Neuroscience capstone course, and specialty courses in their area; ideal candidates will demonstrate a commitment to excellent and engaging undergraduate teaching in small classroom settings. The expected teaching load for this position is three (3) courses per semester. Research interests are open, although interests that include a strong cognitive neuroscience component are highly desired. Competitive candidates will demonstrate an active research program suitable for a liberal arts environment and a commitment to mentoring undergraduate researchers.

Qualifications
  • Ph.D. in psychology, neuroscience, or a related field. Candidates who are ABD may be considered.
  • Record of, or potential for, scholarly productivity

Within these materials candidates should provide specific examples of how they have contributed to equitable and inclusive academic spaces, including how they would enrich Millsaps College’s commitment to supportive environments for a diverse community.
