Position Highlights

The Dhaliwal-Reidy School of Accountancy in the Eller College of Management invites applications for one faculty position to begin in August 2023.

The position is open rank and we will consider highly qualified candidates for Associate or Full Professor ranks with tenure. Candidate for Assistant Professor will be hired in a non-tenured but tenure eligible position. Candidates for Associate and Full Professor positions must have a demonstrated track record of nationally and internationally recognized research excellence. They must have mentored and successfully placed PhD students. In addition, candidates for the Full Professor position must have a distinguished record of service to the profession. This could include being in the editorial boards of journals and conferences. The candidate should also have participated in outreach and has contributed to departmental, college, and university service. The faculty member will conduct state of the art research; teach courses at the graduate and undergraduate levels; and contribute to mentoring students, including those from underrepresented backgrounds. The faculty member will also participate in outreach and contribute to our School, college, and university service. In these and other ways, the faculty member will help to develop innovative approaches to enhancing student engagement, increasing diversity, and expanding collaborations with community and business partners. The Dhaliwal-Reidy School of Accountancy is seeking strong, experienced scholars who can work with diverse students and colleagues, and who have experience with a variety of teaching methods and curricular perspectives.

According to the 2014 BYU Research Rankings, the Dhaliwal-Reidy School of Accountancy ranks #1 in tax and #3 in audit for research generated by graduates of our PhD program and #3 in all topics for research generated by graduates of our PhD program. The School also ranks #5 in tax for research generated by our faculty.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Perform significant and continuing scholarly research in accounting with a specialty in tax.
  • Publish in leading academic journals.
  • Teach in undergraduate and graduate programs.
  • Train and mentor doctoral students.
  • Serve the university through various committee assignments and in additional ways, meeting the needs of both the School and college, and enhance their external stature.

Minimum Qualifications

Assistant Professor, non-tenured/tenure-eligible:

  • Ph.D. in Accounting or a related field from an AACSB accredited institution by the start date.
  • Experience teaching at the university level.

Associate or Full
Professor, tenured or tenure-eligible:

  • Ph.D. in Accounting or a related field from an AACSB accredited institution.
  • Proven record of research accomplishments, evidenced through research grant awards, published papers, progressive academic promotion, or other criteria.
  • Proven teaching excellence, evidenced through course evaluations, teaching awards, or other means.
