Position Highlights

The Department of Medicine is recruiting for a full-time Postdoctoral Fellow to work in Dr. Ruslan Rafikov's research laboratory in the cardiopulmonary field. We are seeking a seasoned PhD motivated to work on a straightforward pathway to independence. The lab's primary focus is lung vasculature in disease conditions such as pulmonary hypertension and acute lung injury. Required expertise includes molecular biology skills applied to primary cell culture (vascular cells). The Postdoctoral Fellow will be actively involved in ongoing multi-project settings. Our approaches range from molecular and system biology, cellular and animal work to translational and personalized medicine.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Lead several projects simultaneously.
  • Work on collaborative projects.
  • Perform molecular biology and cell culture experiments manipulating with gene expression, plasmids, viral vectors.
  • Perform basic mathematical and statistical analyses.
  • Perform standard laboratory procedures, including PCR, western blotting, immunoprecipitation, ELISA, flow cytometry.
  • Prepare manuscripts and grants.
  • Present data at weekly lab meetings.
  • Additional duties may be assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • PhD with at least 4 years of Post Doctoral training.
