Position Highlights

The Program Assistant assists with providing vision, leadership, and oversight for the University of Arizona's student governing body, the Associated Students of the University of Arizona (ASUA). The Program Assistant reports to the Associate Director for Student Governance & Programs and works with student governance leaders and members of the campus community to develop and administer the Spring Fling event.

This is an Extended Temporary Employment (ETE) position.

Duties & Responsibilities

Serve as a member of the Student Governance & Programs staff overseeing campus-wide programming and resources.
Works closely with colleagues across the UA to effectively promote community engagement and collaborative opportunities for Spring Fling Event.

Serve as an advisor to Spring Fling Directors in the planning, fiscal responsibility, and implementation of programs and resources. Assist in the hiring, training, and evaluation of Spring Fling student leaders and volunteers.
Assist in planning and leading large-scale, Spring Fling event that engage multiple UA student communities.
Ensure the effective promotion and marketing of Spring Fling Event.

Under the supervision of the Associate Director of Student Governance & Programs, create and manage budgets for Spring Fling, monitor financial activities and create reports and projections for programmatic cost and revenue.
Ensures adherence to departmental and campus regulations, policies, and procedures.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in field appropriate to area of assignment OR, any equivalent combination of experience, training, and/or education.
  • 1 year of relevant work experience is required.
  • When necessary, must be flexible and willing to work evenings and some weekends.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year of relevant work experience required, including experience in developing, implementing, and evaluating programs, and experience advising student groups and volunteers.
