Collegiate Science and Technology Entry Program (C-STEP), Program Director

Medaille University is accepting applications for a Collegiate Science and Technology Entry Program (C-STEP), Program Director. The director is responsible for developing and implementing the vision, goals, and strategic priorities for Medaille’s C-STEP Program to foster the academic achievement, retention, graduation, and world-readiness of students enrolled in this opportunity program. The director will direct, coordinate, evaluate, and administer the academic and operational activities of the program, especially the development of counseling and academic support and enrichment services designed to foster student growth and success. Responsibilities also include providing productive and cooperative leadership in working with deans, directors, and faculty in support of program-students’ academic needs and concerns; formulating grant proposals to state and other agencies and serving as the primary liaison with those agencies; communicating program objectives to faculty and administrators; recruiting students who meet the necessary guidelines in order to participate in the C-STEP program; providing academic, personal, and financial counseling and advising to C-STEP students; and preparing and implementing the program's annual reports and budgets. The director will have primary responsibility for ensuring that the C-STEP program is in compliance with specifications of the state C-STEP grant and its approved budget guidelines.

Qualifications: Medaille University’s C-STEP project will be led by a C-STEP project director, who will possess at least a bachelor’s degree and three to five years of experience in program administration and management; experience with fiscal and budgetary oversight for projects of similar size; and experience working with students from historically underrepresented and/or economically disadvantaged populations.
