The Department of Physical Therapy Director of Clinical Education is a full-time,12 month position. The Director is responsible for planning, scheduling, coordination, and administrative oversight of Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) student placements. The DCE also serves as a liaison between the DPT and clinical education sites. A successful candidate will also be responsible for teaching, advising, scholarship and service to the college, in accord with the Boyer Model of Scholarship. The DCE is responsible for relevant data management and compliance with the standards of the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE).
Duties: The successful candidate will be able to develop, select, and monitor clinical education placements in accord with departmental goals, successful graduation criteria, and CAPTE accreditation standards; Maintain a collaborative relationship with site coordinators of clinical education; and Assure the components of Clinical Education I, II and III align with departmental, state and CAPTE accreditation standards.
The estimated salary range for this full-time, 12 month position is $72,000 to $72,140 per year.
- Minimum of a doctoral degree awarded by a USDE accredited academic institution
- Terminal academic degree preferred
- Certification and NYS Licensure as a Physical Therapist
- Minimum of three years of clinical experience
- Demonstrated area of clinical, academic and/or administrative expertise
- Knowledge of CAPTE regulations and standards related to clinical education
