The College of Education at Belmont University is seeking applications for a tenure track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor beginning August 1, 2023.

The successful candidate will hold an earned doctorate (Ph.D. or Ed.D.) in educational leadership or a related field from a regionally accredited doctoral granting institution and will possess specialized skills enabling the candidate to effectively teach and mentor doctoral candidates. Ability to teach face to face, online, and blended learning formats is required. The candidate will have instructional experience, as well as subject matter expertise and demonstrated professional experience in organizational and instructional leadership, adult learning theory, and a deep working knowledge of educational leadership literature.
The Strategic Leadership in Education Ph.D. program culminates with dissertation research that addresses real research in authentic settings for the purpose of informing educational practice. Job responsibilities include teaching primarily doctoral level courses in face-to-face and online delivery formats and serving as a dissertation committee member for doctoral committees. Additional responsibilities include academic advising, student mentoring, scholarly activity, and college, university and community service. This role may include some program coordination activities and responsibilities as needed.

  • Demonstrated ability to advise, instruct, manage, motivate and evaluate students.
  • Skilled in the use of computers, Internet resources, and MS Office software.
  • Ability to learn relevant sections of BannerWeb, Belmont University's online integrated database system for student grading.
  • Ability to integrate technology into the teaching and learning process.
  • Ability to successfully interact with students, other educators and educational institution representatives, and the general public in a professional manner.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
  • Knowledge of the programs and services offered by Belmont University. Interest and ability to work collaboratively in course design and to teach interdisciplinary and topical courses.
  • Ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies.
