Position Highlights

The School of Government and Public Policy (SGPP) at the University of Arizona invites applications for a Manager, Administration (Academic Administrative Professional II). The Manager, Administration coordinates regularly with the administrative, advising, and business staff that support SGPP. Duties & Responsibilities

Duties and Responsibilities include:

Department Administration:
* Assist leadership in coordinating and implementing strategies to ensure effective administration to support the academic mission of the School;
* Use expertise to provide support in development of job descriptions, search committees, and performing reference checks, in consultation with Assistant Director;
* Provide advisory, referral, and information services as liaison between students, advisors, and faculty within SGPP;
* Work with International Faculty & Scholars (IFS) and the Social Sciences Business Center to submit Visa requests for faculty, postdocs, and invited visitors;
* Collect and maintain data in oversight of, and report on, program fee management to ensure adherence to ABOR policies;
* Collect and maintain data in oversight of, and report on, awarding of scholarships to ensure that all development commitments are met;
* Manage biannual collection and review of school/course syllabi, using expertise to provide advice and support to faculty and staff on the updating and inputting of Learning Outcomes Assessments in compliance with the HLC;
* Review all new course proposals and modifications for school, ensuring adherence to HLC compliance policies.
* Complete special projects requested by the Department Head
* Other duties as assigned

Administrative Support:
* Provide guidance to faculty, staff, and graduate students in collaboration with Business Team to process travel authorizations and arrangements, p-card transactions, and expense reimbursements;
* Plan, coordinate, and carry out school events as directed by leadership, including but not limited to workshops, conferences, speaker series, receptions, and ceremonies;
* Process Designated Campus Colleagues (DCCs) requests for SGPP;
* Organize itineraries and travel for faculty job candidates and other invited guests.
* Assist School Director with calendar and scheduling of meetings

Office Operations:
* Provide advisory, referral, and information services to students, parents, and other visitors to main office;
* Coordinate and implement daily operations within the main office, to include ordering supplies, assisting with room reservations/usage, monitoring of the Ammex Alarm, maintenance of recycling and shredding;
* Manage facilities and technology needs for the school, to include faculty office relocations;
* Coordinate all departmental key requests and annual Key Desk audits;
* Maintain all department level listserv access, subscriptions, and marketing

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

- Ability to effectively communicate with individuals & organizations with a broad range of viewpoints and backgrounds

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • Minimum of 3 years of
    related work experience or equivalent combination of education and work
    experience required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in communications, marketing, journalism, public relations, or a related field
  • Experience with UArizona's UAccess proprietary software and systems
