Title: Assistant/Associate Professor, Sport and Recreation Management Position
Location: Wingate, NC Campus Position

The School of Sport Sciences invites applications for an annually renewable 9-month continuing appointment at the rank of Assistant/Associate Professor. This is a full-time faculty tenure track position commencing in August 2023. The successful candidate will have a terminal Degree in Sport Management or related field from a regionally accredited institution and sport management teaching experience at the college level in one or more of the following areas: introduction to sport and recreation management, sport governance, facility planning and design, event management, finance, sales and sponsorship.

Duties and Responsibilities:
In addition to the duties listed below, faculty members must adhere to the general faculty guidelines as specified by Wingate University and perform other duties as assigned by the Department Chair, Dean or Provost.
  • Teaching undergraduate courses in sport and recreation management
  • Advising and mentoring a diverse population of students
  • Conducting research leading to publication and engaging in service to the School of Sport Sciences, University, profession and community
  • Consistent, high quality communication with department, colleagues and students
  • Regular, predictable attendance on campus
  • Alignment with University mission, vision, and strategic roadmap
  • Other job duties/responsibilities as assigned
Qualifications and Experience:
  • Terminal degree in Sport Management or related field from an accredited institution required
  • Demonstrated strong record of teaching excellence
  • Experiential learning and community engagement experience preferred
  • Commitment to actively support and advance DEI initiatives
