Position Highlights

The Administrative Assistant will provide general administrative and project management support including scheduling, coordination research activities and project communications and program data collection. This person will work closely with Dr. Purnima Madhivanan and her research team to ensure effective and efficient management of all her research projects. The Administrative Assistant should be highly detail oriented and proactive in solving logistical challenges.

The incumbent will require the expertise in planning and scheduling techniques and the ability to coordinate and organize meetings and/or special events as needed. Records maintenance skills, database management skills, word processing and/or data entry skills are necessary as well as the ability to create, compose, and edit written materials. The incumbent will also posses strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.

The successful candidate will knowledge will have knowledge of current and emerging trends in technologies, techniques, issues, and approaches in area of expertise, and must be able to organize resources and establish priorities.

This is an Extended Temporary Employment (ETE) position.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provides administrative support to Dr Madhivanan by providing scheduling appointments, meetings, and travel, filing, researching files and records, and preparing and proofreading correspondence, reports, and other documents as requested.
  • Assists Dr Madhivanan by providing information, locating desired information and materials, typing, collating, or otherwise assisting in grant and manuscript preparation, preparing and/or proofreading manuscripts, correspondence, and other material, obtaining desk copies of textbooks, making travel arrangements, and preparing expense reports.
  • Contributes to an environment that encourages knowledge of, respect for, and development of skills to engage with those of other cultures or backgrounds.
  • Perform a variety of tasks, such as recruitment and screening of prospective research participants; obtaining informed consent from study participants; collecting, entering, and analyzing subject data; and compiling reports.
  • Recruit, screen, enroll and maintain in-person contact with study participants.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience required.
  • High school diploma or equivalent, or equivalent learning attained through experience required
