Francis Marion University (FMU) and the School of Health Sciences invite applications for the position of Academic Fieldwork Coordinator for our Entry Level Occupational Therapy Doctoral Program, which will accept its first cohort in August 2024. The FMU Occupational Therapy Program seeks an experienced, collaborative, faculty member who will be involved in the development and submission of its application for Candidacy Status, due on December 15, 2023. The successful candidate will serve as an integral member of the Department and the School of Health Sciences team during the initial accreditation process with the primary responsibility of developing and managing the fieldwork program, which includes and is not limited to, fostering student fieldwork experiences and fieldwork educator relationships. Additionally, the successful candidate will have responsibilities related to teaching, collaborative scholarship, and internal/external service activities, within an innovative, engaging, professional curriculum.

This position is a 12-month, tenure-track appointment. Preference will be given to candidates with academic, leadership, and accreditation experience in meeting responsibilities in teaching, scholarship, and service. This is an exciting opportunity for a professional in the field of Occupational Therapy to be a part of a newly established program that will produce qualified Occupational Therapists for northeastern South Carolina and other regions of the state.

Qualifications: Candidates must currently have or be eligible for South Carolina state licensure as an OTR/L and must be interested in working at a university committed to quality, higher education in the health sciences. Successful applicants will demonstrate, excellence in teaching, a commitment to cultural diversity, and values highly, the ability to work with individuals or groups from diverse communities, cultures and backgrounds. Candidates must have a minimum of 2 years clinical experience as an OTR/L and a terminal degree (Ph.D., Ed.D, OTD, PsyD, Sc.D, etc.) in a related or appropriate area of specialization.
