ROLE of the POSITION

The Social Media Coordinator will report to the Director of Communications and will assist in developing and implementing a social media plan and executing strategies for the Division of Philanthropy & Alumni Engagement (PAE) through the use of multimedia tools to develop content. This position will manage social media accounts for the UNLV Foundation and UNLV Alumni Association. 

This position will research, plan, create, edit, organize, and post digital content including videos, photos, and graphics. This position will also be responsible for keeping an editorial/posting calendar, drafting, scheduling, and posting social media copy as well as collaborating with the Director of Communications in developing online articles/content to highlight PAE events and activities on social media.

The Social Media Coordinator will attend Division and university events as well as post photos and videos in real-time to engage PAE social media audiences. This position will help expand and grow Philanthropy & Alumni Engagement social media presence on current and emerging platforms by using trends effectively while representing the UNLV brand.

The Social Media Coordinator will also be a key collaborator in telling PAE's story on social media and supporting the marketing goals of PAE. This position will also monitor conversations about UNLV, UNLV Foundation, and UNLV Alumni Association on social media, flagging issues, concerns, and sharing updates with leadership.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

This position requires a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university as recognized by the United States Department of Education and/or the Council on Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) and A minimum of one year of related professional experience in communications, marketing, advertising, digital marketing, reporting, journalism, or related field.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

A minimum of one year of professional experience supporting an organization's social media efforts and/or experience in Higher Education.
