Position Highlights

Treasury is currently seeking a disciplined individual to work within the Treasury Operations area of the Financial Services. The successful candidate will be required to exhibit professional and competent knowledge of accounting principles and practices, general banking practices, spreadsheets, and databases. Duties & Responsibilities

  • Supports banking and
    merchant services for University departments/units to establish bank accounts,
    merchant account and accept bank/credit cards as a form of payment for services
    performed or for merchandise sold by such units and affiliates. Coordinating
    all merchant compliance activities that are required or directed by University
    policies, payment card industry, University Information Security Office, and
    acquiring bank standards. Conducts on campus trainings related to topics such
    as credit card terminals, desktop deposit and account reconciliation. Maintains
    merchant and bank relationships.
  • Supports the cash accounting
    activity, which generates cash inflows and outflows on the University's behalf,
    including 18 bank accounts and multiple general ledger accounts. Performs a
    broad scope of professional accounting activities, such as initiating, reviewing,
    monitoring, reconciling and approving financial transactions and investigating any
    accounting discrepancies and identifying solutions.
  • Provides advice and
    services to management, FSNV and other University staff with problems, complex
    accounting issues or special projects.
  • Supports annual audit
    folder for bank reconciliations to include financial schedules and footnotes.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related area
    with accounting course work AND one year of professional accounting experience;
  • Any equivalent combination of experience, training
    and/or education

Preferred Qualifications

  • General banking experience
  • Experience with UAccess Financials
  • Experience completing problem solving and analytical duties
  • Experience using spreadsheet and database applications such as MS Excel and MS Access
  • Experience with adapting and being flexible in a rapidly changing environment where job duties change and new procedures are initiated
  • Five (5) years of progressively responsible and diverse accounting experience and course work, which includes at least one year of professional accounting, in which a broad exposure to all areas of accounting and accounting principles, practices and procedures was acquired
