The Human Resources Generalist/Recruiter will be a key departmental partner in providing support in a variety of capacities to diverse constituents throughout the University. Primarily this position will administer the full-cycle recruitment process for staff, faculty, and adjunct faculty positions and will be instrumental in partnering with college faculty and administration to keep abreast of the needs of the institution. This person will guide recruiting decisions by making and providing proactive solutions. This position requires an extremely perceptive person who is capable of building strong relationships with individuals at all levels within the organization.


Primary Outcomes and Responsibilities:
  • Actively participates in the full life cycle recruiting process for staff, faculty and adjunct positions throughout the University including the development of job descriptions, sourcing candidates, posting positions, candidate review, conducting interviews, extending job offers, and obtaining appropriate paperwork/approvals of high quality diverse candidates.
  • Maintain and support a variety of recruiting reports or queries utilizing appropriate reporting tools.
  • Partners with College Program Chairs/Directors, and hiring managers to actively identifies sourcing strategies and develops and maintains a deep knowledge/understanding of internal needs for the colleges.
  • Educates. trains and coaches Program Chairs, Program Directors, Content Leads and Hiring Managers on the recruitment and selection process.
Qualifications, Skills and Competencies:
  • Associate’s Degree in Human Resources, Business, or other related field (required)
  • Minimum of 1-5 years related human resources and/or recruiting experience
  • Experience managing the full-lifecycle recruitment process
  • Familiarity with faculty or adjunct recruiting preferred
  • Adaptability/ Flexibility – Adjusts quickly and effectively to changing conditions and demands. Discusses change as a necessary and inevitable aspect of organizational life as well as an opportunity to learn new things. Has a similar view and approach to potentially stressful situations. Invests personal energy toward accepting and adapting to change that others use toward resisting or resenting it.
  • Presentation Skills – Comes across as confident and well-prepared when making group presentations.
  • Relationship Building/ Networking – Builds rapport and develops alliances with a broad range of people. Adjusts communication style to meet the needs of individuals at various organizational levels and to meet the needs of clients. Forms alliances by demonstrating concern and respect for others, as well as by highlighting common interests and aspirations. Leave others feeling that he/she will be a trusted ally and is careful to act in ways that reinforce that trust over time.
  • Problem Solving – Takes a proactive approach to anticipating and preventing problems. When problems occur, defines those problems, investigates obstacles, gathers relevant information, decides whether solving the problem should be a group decision, generates and analyzes alternate solutions and arrives at a workable solution.
