Job Description

Harford Community College's Workforce and Community Education Division is seeking qualified part-time instructors to teach on-campus, online, and/or hybrid classes in Cloud Computing for the following courses:
  • Cloud Fundamentals
  • Virtualization and Design
  • Cloud Platform and Infrastructure Security
  • Cloud Operations
Instructors are expected to:
  • Maintain current knowledge of the field of study via regular and active participation in professional development activities.
  • Relate to students in a professional manner.
  • Encourage students to seek additional help as needed.
  • Work willingly with students who experience difficulty.
  • Communicate student issues of concern to appropriate channels while respecting FERPA guidelines.
  • Augment college created curriculum with relevant and meaningful instructional supplements which further enhance the learning experience for students.
  • Use multiple sources of data to inform instructional decisions and efforts toward effective preparation of students.
  • Maintain a classroom environment conducive to learning
  • Respond to student communication within 24 hours.
  • Evaluate student progress.
  • Keep accurate and timely records.
  • Maintain student records and grades.
Employees of Harford Community College, including instructors for online and virtual courses, must be residents of Maryland or the contiguous states of Delaware, Pennsylvania, Virginia, West Virginia or the District of Columbia. Work is generally performed on the College campus unless otherwise specified.

Required Education

Current Amazon Web Services (AWS) foundations and associate-level certification; and at least two of the following certifications: Cloud Practitioner, Solutions Architect, SysOps Administrator, Developer are required.

Required Experience

Teaching experience required.

Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

Expertise in the assigned course material and excellent communication skills are required.

Preferred Qualifications

One year of teaching experience preferred.

General Weekly Work Schedule

Based on class schedule and instructor availability. Final schedule to be determined by the supervisor.
