Position Highlights

The University of Arizona College of Medicine, Department of Family and Community Medicine invites applicants to apply for the position of Clinical Research Coordinator II for a CDC-funded Influenza cohort study. The position is responsible for overseeing a wide variety of research study tasks including supporting study investigators and the research team with implementing research study initiatives. The duties of this position will include responsibility for recruiting and retaining participants, collecting data, and maintaining study records.

This is a grant funded position.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Participates in the design and development of a CDC-funded influenza study adhering to proper research guidelines.
  • Executes and interprets the clinical research project protocols and assists in developing treatment plans.
  • Submits study protocols, amendments, consent forms, and recruiting materials to the Institutional Review Board and department PI for approval with oversight from supervisor.
  • Collects, submits and analyzes study participant data, and uses data to create documents, including reports, graphs, and other required research materials.
  • Tracks participants as they move through the clinical trial, and maintains study logs.
  • Recruits and retains study participants.
  • Conducts initial interviews with potential candidates to ensure they meet the trial criteria.
  • Liaises with participants throughout the study answering general questions and addressing concerns.
  • Shares information with PI, and provides ongoing updates of participant status.
  • Participates in trial subject medical history interviews and administers questionnaires.
  • Completes blood draws.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent advanced learning attained through professional level experience required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience is required.

Preferred Qualifications

*Bilingual in English/Spanish. *Advanced organizational skills. *Ability to multi-task. *Ability to work independently and in a team environment. *Thorough, careful documentation. *Report preparation. *Biosafety, HIPAA, CITI (Biomedical Research Investigators), and biospecimen shipping training.
