Position Highlights

The University of Arizona College of Medicine, Department of Family and Community Medicine invites applicants to apply for a Research Technician I position. The position is responsible for developing, facilitating, implementing, and administering a wide variety of study-related tasks including organizing data and specimens. The duties of this position will include the collection, processing, storage, organization, and shipping of several hundred blood specimens.

This is a grant funded position.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Collects blood specimens for a subset of enrolled and consented research participants.
  • Manages the collection of biological specimens including respiratory samples.
  • Cleans and sterilizes instruments and equipment, and prepares materials for specimen collection.
  • Sets up lab equipment following detailed instructions and procedures.
  • Provide routine administrative support to research projects (photocopies, files, and record keeping).

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent, or equivalent learning attained through experience required.
  • Prior work experience not required.

Preferred Qualifications

*1 year work experience as a research technician. *Bilingual in English/Spanish. *Biosafety, HIPAA, CITI (Biomedical Research Investigators), and biospecimen shipping training. *Phlebotomy certificate. *Sterile technique. *Database management (REDCap). *Excellent organization skills. *Attention to detail. *Thorough, careful documentation. *Report preparation.
